Blow up all the existing turrets, they don't add to your defense anyway

I don't think there's a way to turn them to your side, you could use console commands to remove them I guess. There's also a small bit of buildable area just outside the front doors, you could put your turrets there and the ones mounted on the walls might not be able to see them.

The Covenant turrets need to go if you want to add your own. This is a buggy thing if you decide to keep the original settlers.

Buy Peggys Legendary Shotgun and kill them all off by choices in the quest is what i do as they are all buggy settlers.

The easiest way should be to use a mod like scrap everything to demolish the enemy turrets and use the sockets for your own. You can't reprogram the turrets so they work for you. Except you betray Honest Dan during the Covenant questline, i think. I didn't try that for myself because of... these f***ing Covenant racists! Sorry, lost my temper for a second.

The weird thing about Covenant is when I shut the door and hacked their terminal, and no one could see me, when I exited the building they were all hostile to me. Maybe Covenant has some bugs?

They can be removed, even without using console commands or destroying them, by using building glitches, but it's extremely fiddly.

hmmm i wonder how did it even pass basic QA process, i guess i'll try to build them outside the wall, hopefully they wont get spotted. regarding builing glitches i really dnt know what u are talking about, would appreciate a video or some description of what i could use

press ~ (target the turret with your pointer, an ID # will come up) type disable..... rinse repeat for each turret. Then build your own. If that's not clear, go to the fallout 4 wiki and open Covenant under settlements page.

Yes it does.

It's not famous like the wire or pillar glitches, but basically if you put an object in front of the turret and rapidly double-press the store and confirm buttons, you can end up selecting the turret after storing the object in front of it. It doesn't allow you to move the turrets (because someone in development decided to abnormally lock them in place), but if you've also stuck a floor piece very close to the turret, it will end up on the flooring when you try to place it, and then disappear when you remove the flooring.

The initial step of double-storing/confirming can also be used to grab objects with yellow outlines that you can normally only scrap, or those locked beds in some settlements (which can also be stuck on floors and removed like the turrets). But it's very fiddly because the button spam has to be done extremely fast, making it a matter of luck to get it right at all.

thanks, will definetely try that out

replace them with yours, after you got rid of settlers (not giving spoiler as to how!)

Doesn't extra objects selection of Place Everywhere allow you to scrap those pesky things and replace them with your own? I do not recall if that was the case, but I do not see any reason why that wouldn't happen.

My game is not in position to test this out right now, but I think there should be plenty enough people playing with PE to confirm.

One sure fire way to get rid of those unbearable turrets is by using 2 console commands.
(I read this on the wiki)
For each turret:
1. Up close, look at it.
2. Press ~
3. Click on the turret (or what's left of it, if you had to destroy them.).
4. Type: markfordelete ( press enter)
then type: disable (press enter)
5. Press ~

Do this for each turret.

Then go place your own turrets in their respective position. (I prefer missile turrets).
